1.1 These requirements cover track lighting systems intended for permanent connection to sources of supply in commercial or residential ordinary locations in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70. The track lighting systems covered by this standard are rated: a) 300 volts or less; b) 150 volts or less to ground; and c) 50 amperes or less. 1.2 Lighting track is intended to be permanently installed and permanently connected to a branch circuit not exceeding 277 volts, nominal to ground, and 50 amperes. 1.3 These requirements cover: a) Track networks consisting of track and connectors; b) Mono-, duo-, and multi-point canopies; c) Incandescent, fluorescent, and High Intensity Discharge (HID) luminaire assemblies intended to be electrically connected to and physically supported by the track in track networks and canopies; d) Mounting means for the track; and e) Accessories. 1.4 These requirements do not cover: a) Busways intended for lighting, receptacles, or other general-purpose adaptors covered by the Standard for Busways, UL 857, and intended for use in accordance with Article 364 of the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70; or b) Track lighting systems for marine use aboard a ship or boat. 1.5 Track lighting systems are not intended for use: a) In wet or damp locations; b) In installations where the track is concealed; c) In hazardous locations; d) Where subject to physical damage; e) Where the track is extended through walls or partitions of building structures; f) Where subject to corrosive vapors; or g) In storage battery rooms. 1.6 A track lighting luminaire assembly that uses a tungsten-halogen lamp, fluorescent lamp, or high-intensity-discharge lamp shall also comply with the applicable requirements from the Standard for Luminaires, UL 1598.
This clause of Part 1 is replaced by the following. This International Standard deals with the safety of electric shavers, hair clippers and similar appliances intended for household and similar purposes, their RATED VOLTAGE being not more than 250 V.Examples of similar appliances are those used for manicure, and pedicure. Appliances not intended for normal household use, but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, such as appliances intended to be used by laymen in shops and on farms, are within the scope of this standard.Examples of such appliances are animal clippers, animal shearers and appliances for hairdressers. As far as is practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by appliances that are encountered by all persons in and around the home. However, in general, it does not take into account: the use of appliances by young children or infirm persons without supervision; playing with the appliance by young children. Attention is drawn to the fact that: for appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary; in many countries additional requirements are specified by national health authorities, national authorities responsible for the protection of labour and similar authorities. This standard does not apply to: appliances intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour or gas); massage appliances (IEC 60335-2-32); appliances for medical purposes (IEC 60601). 1 Modification of 1DV of the UL part 1: The articulate probe of figure 1DV shall replace the test finger of figure 1 for these products. 1 Modification of the second paragraph of the part 2 by replacement with 1dv.2.1 and 1dv.2.2: 1DV.2.1 These requirements cover hair clippers and shaving appliances to be employed in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70. 1DV.2.2 These requirements cover appliances for household or commercial use on persons or animals, and appliances in which motion of an operating part is produced by electrical means. 1DV.2.2 Modification of Note 101 of the part 2 by replacement with the following: These requirements do not cover manicure, pedicure, or personal grooming appliances used for similar purposes. However, hair clipping and shaving appliances supplied with manicure, pedicure, or other similar attachments or accessories are investigated under these requirements and such additional requirements as are applicable to the appliance under consideration. 1DV.2.2 Modification of the third paragraph of the part 2 by replacement with the following: Motor-operated lather makers, lather makers incorporating heaters, barber shop vacuum cleaners for use on persons, and other types of hair clipping and shaving appliances not specifically named here are investigated under these requirements and under such additional requirements as are applicable to the appliance under consideration. 1DV.2.2 Modification of Note 103 of the part 2 to add the following items: for an appliance that utilizes some other source of energy - such as gas or steam - in addition to electric energy, additional requirements may be necessary. Additional requirements applicable to equipment designed for use in hazardous locations as defined in the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, are not included in this standard. 1DV.2.2 Addition to part 2: The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
This document describes calculation models to estimate the sound pressure level in buildings due to service equipment. As for the field measurement document (EN ISO 16032) it covers sanitary installations, mechanical ventilation, heating and cooling, service equipment, lifts, rubbish chutes, boilers, blowers, pumps and other auxiliary service equipment, and motor driven car park doors, but can also be applied to others equipment attached to or installed in buildings. The estimation is primarily based on measured data that characterises both the sources and the building constructions. The models given are applicable to calculations in frequency bands. This document describes the principles of the calculation models, lists the relevant quantities and defines its applications and restrictions. It is intended for acoustical experts and provides the framework for the development of application documents and tools for other users in the field of building construction, taking into account local circumstances. The calculation models described use the most general approach for engineering purposes, with a link to measurable quantities that specify the performance of building elements and equipment. The known limitations of these calculation models are described inThis document. Users should, however, be aware that other calculation models also exist, each with their own applicability and restrictions. The models are based on experience with predictions for dwellings and offices; they could also be used for other types of buildings provided the constructional dimensions are similar to those in dwellings.
This standard specifies definitions for terms of wastewater engineering, which are not included in the European Standard EN 16323. This standard contains significant terms in the field of wastewater engineering and such terms which were not unambiguous until now.
This first supplement of the DIN 85005 contains all the standards according to series DIN 85005 approved of series VG 85005 in all their sections. It will increase the transparency to these standards. And helpts make them more understandable to future users. This supplement also has an attached index with all the subsequent specified standards to ease the us age.
This European Standard specifies the requirements and test methods for the construction, safety and marking of domestic direct gas-fired tumble dryers, of types B22D and B23D, of nominal heat input not exceeding 6 kW, hereafter referred to as \"appliances\". This European Standard does not apply to: a) catalytic combustion appliances; b) appliances designed exclusively for industrial purposes; c) appliances intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere; d) appliances of the condensing type wherein the heated air and products of combustion used for the drying process are dehumidified by cooling with water or air; e) appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft. This European Standard covers type testing only.
This standard covers physical requirements andtest methods for performance, and dimensions, in addition to general requirements of materials, workmanship and finish of plastic water closets bowls, tanks, tank covers or combinationsof same. The materials and equipment which are listed to conduct the tests in this standard are provided for reference in determining compliance with this voluntary standard. Materials and equipment of similar design, composition, and specificationshall also be permitted to conduct these tests.
