This Recommendation deals with the application of splices of single-mode and multimode opticalfibres. It describes a suitable procedure for splicing that shall be carefully followed in order toobtain reliable splices between optical fibres or ribbons. This procedure applies both to single fibresor ribbons (mass splicing). In addition, this Recommendation advises on the optical, mechanicaland environmental testing methods, required for the splice system design and equipmentqualification . Further information is provided in the CCITT Manual \"Construction, installation, jointing and protection of optical fibre cables\".The fibres shall be in accordance with ITU-T Recommendations [1] to [7].
This document applies to flat bricks used for structural and non-structural masonry. Flat bricks with particular dimensional accuracy with special regard to the brick height. Their density does not exceed 1,6 kg/dm3.
This European Standard deals with the technical requirements to minimise the hazards listed in clause 4 and annex A. These hazards can arise during the operation and maintenance of equipment to store bulk materials in silos, bunkers, bins and hoppers and their built-in inlet and outlet devices when carried out in accordance with the specifications given by the manufacturer or his authorised representative. This standard deals with safety related technical verification during commissioning. Safety requirements and/or measures in this standard apply to equipment used in all environments. However, additional risk assessment and safety measures need to be considered in severe conditions, e. g. low or high temperatures out of the range covered by EN 60204-1, corrosive environments, strong magnetic fields, radioactive conditions and bulk materials to be stored included their flow the nature of which could lead to a dangerous situation. This European Standard deals with the technical requirements for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
This European Standard specifies the execution of diaphragm walls and the practical aspects which must be taken into account in the production of the working drawings. Diaphragm walls can be permanent or temporary structures. The following types are concerned: 1) retaining walls: usually made to support the sides of an excavation in the ground. They include: cast in situ concrete diaphragm walls; precast concrete diaphragm walls; reinforced slurry walls. 2) cut-off diaphragm walls: usually made to prevent migration of groundwater, clear or polluted, or of other liquids present in the ground. They include: slurry walls (possibly with membranes or sheetpiles); plastic concrete walls.
This European Standard specifies a test method for the quantitative determination of ignition and combustion delays of middle distillate fuels intended for use in compression ignition engines. The method utilizes a constant volume combustion chamber with direct fuel injection into heated, compressed synthetic air. This European Standard is applicable to middle distillate fuels, fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) and blends of diesel fuels and FAME. The method is also applicable to middle distillate fuels of non-petroleum origin, oil-sands based fuels, blends of fuel containing biodiesel material, diesel fuel oils containing cetane number improver additives and low-sulfur diesel fuel oils.
This part of DIN EN 60191 gives a glossary of semiconductor sockets for BGA, LGA, FBGA and FLGA. This standard intends to establish definition and unification of terminology relating to tests and burn-in sockets for BGA, LGA, FBGA and FLGA.
This part of BS 6349 gives recommendations for the design ofroll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) ramps, linkspans and walkways, used for thetransfer of passengers and vehicles between shore and ship.It applies to the structural elements only and does not cover the designof any operational equipment, traffic control, mechanical or electricalequipment, heating, lighting, life saving or rescue equipment other thanas the structures forming a facility need to incorporate and/or supportany of these features. Most geometrical aspects of fixed shore ramps arecovered in this part of BS 6349, but recommendations for all otheraspects are given in BS 6349-2.This part of BS 6349 does not apply to Ro-Ro facilities used by railvehicles in that it does not give recommendations for railway loadingand associated ramp gradients. However, many of its recommendationsare applicable to rail Ro-Ro facilities and can be used in the absence ofother guidance.NOTE This part of BS 6349 is generally intended to cover facilitiesconstructed in the British Isles. Although the majority of the contents aredirectly applicable elsewhere, local conditions might necessitatemodifications, e.g. environmental effects and traffic loading.
This part of BS 7121 gives recommendations for the safe use of lorryloaders. Subjects covered include management, selection of equipment, selection and training of personnel, procedures and precautions, testing, inspection, maintenance and examination. This part of BS 7121 is intended to be used in conjunction withBS 7121-2, which provides general guidance on the inspection, testingand examination of all types of cranes.
