This Standard specifies essential safety requirements for portable electrical control or conditioning devices as defined in Clause 4 below, which are designed for operation at low voltage and which have a maximum operating current not exceeding 20 A.Typical examples of devices having a control or conditioning function are those which incorporate energy regulators, speed controllers, timing devices, photoelectric devices, devices actuated by sound or radiofrequency, devices actuated by signals or impulses generated remotely by manual or automatic means, movement detectors, lighting dimmers, temperature-sensitive devices, overcurrent protection devices of either the manual or automatically resetting type, voltage/frequency conditioning devices and filtering devices.Plugs complying with AS/NZS 3112, cord extension sockets complying with AS/NZS 3120, socket-outlet adaptors complying with AS/NZS 3122 and cord extension sets complying with AS/NZS 3199, which incorporate control or conditioning functions are within the scope of this Standard. This Standard does not apply to the following:(a) Control or conditioning devices which are incorporated in an appliance.(b) Portable residual current (earth-leakage) devices within the scope of AS/NZS 3190.(c) Portable devices incorporating voltage transformation within the scope of the AS/NZS 61558 (all parts).(d) Appliance connectors incorporating control facilities within the scope of AS/NZS 60320.1.(e) Plugs complying with AS/NZS 3112, cord-extension sockets complying with AS/NZS 3120 and socket-outlet adaptors complying with AS/NZS 3122 which incorporate indicating devices, e.g. neons, light-emitting diodes.(f) Plugs complying with AS/NZS 3112 incorporating fuses.(g) Electrical portable outlet devices complying with AS/NZS 3105.NOTE: Thermostats and energy regulators of the self-contained type but intended for independent mounting are within the scope of AS/NZS 3161.

UL 399-2008饮用水冷却器

1.1 These requirements cover self-contained drinking-water coolers which employ hermetic refrigerantmotor-compressors and which are designed for connection to alternating-current circuits rated not greaterthan 600 volts in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70. The requirements also apply towater coolers which supply both hot and cold water.1.2 These requirements do not include additional requirements applicable to equipment designed for usein hazardous locations as defined in the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70.1.3 A product that contains features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems new or differentfrom those covered by the requirements in this standard, and that involves a risk of fire, electric shock, orinjury to persons shall be evaluated using the appropriate additional component and end-productrequirements as determined necessary to maintain the acceptable level of safety as originally anticipatedby the intent of this standard. A product whose features, characteristics, components, materials, orsystems conflict with specific requirements or provisions of this standard cannot be judged to comply withthis standard. Where considered appropriate, revision of requirements shall be proposed and adopted inconformance with the methods employed for development, revision, and implementation of this standard.

UL 935-2001荧光灯镇流器

1.1 These requirements cover ballasts of the resistance, reactance, and electronic (high frequency) types for use with fluorescent lamps involving a potential of 2500 volts or less in accordance with the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70.1.2 A fluorescent-lamp ballast may be determined by investigation to be acceptable for use, in a fixtureor other device, with electric-discharge lamps of other than the fluorescent type.1.3 Fluorescent self ballasted lamps and ballast adaptors are evaluated using the Standard forSelf-Ballasted Lamps and Lamp Adapters, UL 1993. The component ballast is evaluated to requirementsin this Standard.1.4 A product that contains features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems new or different from those covered by the requirements in this standard, and that involves a risk of fire or of electric shockor injury to persons shall be evaluated using appropriate additional component and end-productrequirements to maintain the level of safety as originally anticipated by the intent of this standard. A product whose features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems conflict with specific requirements or provisions of this standard does not comply with this standard. Revision of requirements shall be proposed and adopted in conformance with the methods employed for development, revision, and implementation of this standard.

UL 1574-2004道路照明系统

1.1 These requirements cover track lighting systems intended for permanent connection to sources of supply in commercial or residential ordinary locations in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70. The track lighting systems covered by this standard are rated: a) 300 volts or less; b) 150 volts or less to ground; and c) 50 amperes or less. 1.2 Lighting track is intended to be permanently installed and permanently connected to a branch circuit not exceeding 277 volts, nominal to ground, and 50 amperes. 1.3 These requirements cover: a) Track networks consisting of track and connectors; b) Mono-, duo-, and multi-point canopies; c) Incandescent, fluorescent, and High Intensity Discharge (HID) luminaire assemblies intended to be electrically connected to and physically supported by the track in track networks and canopies; d) Mounting means for the track; and e) Accessories. 1.4 These requirements do not cover: a) Busways intended for lighting, receptacles, or other general-purpose adaptors covered by the Standard for Busways, UL 857, and intended for use in accordance with Article 364 of the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70; or b) Track lighting systems for marine use aboard a ship or boat. 1.5 Track lighting systems are not intended for use: a) In wet or damp locations; b) In installations where the track is concealed; c) In hazardous locations; d) Where subject to physical damage; e) Where the track is extended through walls or partitions of building structures; f) Where subject to corrosive vapors; or g) In storage battery rooms. 1.6 A track lighting luminaire assembly that uses a tungsten-halogen lamp, fluorescent lamp, or high-intensity-discharge lamp shall also comply with the applicable requirements from the Standard for Luminaires, UL 1598.
