　　GB/T 1845的本部分规定了聚乙烯(PE)热塑性塑料材料的命名系统，该系统可作为分类基础。 不同类型的聚乙烯热塑性塑料材料用下列指定的特征性能的值以及推荐用途和(或)加工方法、重要性能、添加剂、着色剂、填料和增强材料等为基础的一种分类系统加以区分： a) 密度; b) 熔体质量流动速率。 本部分适用于聚乙烯均聚物以及其他1-烯烃单体质量分数小于50%和带官能团的非烯烃单体质量分数不多于3%的共聚物。 本部分适用于常规为粉状、颗粒或碎粒状，未改性或经着色剂、添加剂、填料等改性的材料。 本部分不适用于母料和EPM橡胶。本部分也不适用于超高分子量聚乙烯(PE-UHMW)。超高分子量聚乙烯的命名和分类参见GB/T 21461.1-2008。 本部分不意味着命名相同的材料必定具有相同的性能。本部分不提供用于说明材料特殊用途和(或)加工方法所需的工程数据、性能数据或加工条件数据。 如果需要，可按GB/T 1845的第2部分中规定的试验方法确定这些附加性能。 为了说明某种聚乙烯热塑性塑料材料的特殊用途或为了确保加工的重现性，可以在字符组5中给出附加要求。
