This part of IEC 61223 applies to radiological installations with diagnostic X-ray systems designed to expose intra-orally placed radiographic films or electronic equipment (sensors), but excluding dental panoramic equipment. This standard is a part of a series of Particular Publications (standards and technical reports), which give methods of tests for the constancy of operation of various subsystems of diagnostic X-ray equipment. This part of IEC 61223 is designed to be applicable to equipment for intra-oral dental radiography without digital imaging devices.
This part of IEC 61223 applies to those components of dental X-ray equipment using radiographic imaging systems which influence the image quality and patient dose. This standard applies to the performance of the acceptance test on dental X-ray equipment with intra-oral X-ray image receptor and dental X-ray equipment with extra-oral X-ray image receptor (for example, dental panoramic X-ray equipment or cephalometric X-ray).This standard applies to dental film and digital image acquisition and processing.
This document specifies requirements for dental polymer-based restorative materials supplied in a form suitable for mechanical mixing, hand-mixing, or intra-oral and extra-oral external energy activation, and intended for use primarily for the direct or indirect restoration of the teeth and for luting. The polymer-based luting materials covered by this document are intended for use in the cementation or fixation of restorations and appliances such as inlays, onlays, veneers, crowns and bridges. This document does not cover those polymer-based luting materials that have an adhesive component within the structure of the material (see ISO/TS 16506). The document does not cover polymer-based materials intended to prevent caries (see ISO 6874), core materials or those used for veneering metal sub-frames (see ISO 10477).
This document specifies requirements and test methods common to all non-hinged hand instruments used in dentistry, including materials, hardness, surface finish, resistance to reprocessing and information for marking, although some can have additional specific requirements and test methods. This document does not specify terms and definitions or classification of specific types of hand instruments. This document excludes powered instruments. The classification and the shape of working ends of nonhinged hand instruments are excluded from this document.
1.1 This specification covers refined cadmium metal in slab, ball or stick form.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard.1.3 ToxicityWarning: Soluble and respirable forms of cadmium may be harmful to human health and the environment in certain forms and concentrations. Therefore, ingestion and inhalation of cadmium should be controlled under the appropriate regulations of the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Cadmium-containing alloys and coatings should not be used on articles that will contact food or beverages, or for dental and other equipment that is normally inserted in the mouth. Similarly, if articles using cadmium-containing alloys or coatings are welded, soldered, brazed, ground, \"flame-cut,\" or otherwise heated during fabrication, adequate ventilation must be provided to maintain occupational cadmium exposure below the OSHA Permissible Exposure Level (PEL).This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to become familiar with all hazards including those identified in the appropriate Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for this product/material as provided by the manufacturer, to establish appropriate safety and health practices, and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
